Changes in the Balance Law
On 13 October 2019, changes were made to the Sales, Promotions skype database Clearances Law ( Decree Law No. 70 ). In addition to simplifying the procedures that must be followed by traders during sales, these changes aim to make it easier to compare prices and evaluate discounts and savings at the time of purchase .

We have listed the main points to remember from the new sales law, which must be implemented immediately by merchants.
Lowest Price
It is established that a product sold on sale or during a promotion cannot have a higher price than the value at which it was sold during the previous 90 days, with the exception of previous sales and promotions.
"The announced price reduction must be real, by reference to the lowest price previously charged for the same product or, when it concerns a product not previously marketed by the economic agent, by reference to the price to be charged after the reduction period".
This measure, negotiated with consumer and trade associations, aims to prevent prices from being increased immediately before sales or promotions, thus protecting consumers and setting limits for traders.
Promotions and Sales
The new sales law allows sales and promotions to be held in the same store at the same time. Sales are the sale of stock at a lower price than previously displayed. Promotions are items purchased for the launch or development of the activity, at a more advantageous price.
The sales period may take place at any time, as long as it does not exceed 124 days per year, instead of the four months previously permitted. Promotions may take place at any time deemed appropriate by the retailer.
Prices must be properly labeled and the sale must include the price reduction, the sales method, the type of product, the respective reduction percentage, as well as the start date and duration period. Labels must also clearly indicate when promotions are for defective products.
