People all over the world came together on Facebook in 2018 to discuss issues, events and important people. International Women’s Day was the most talked about issue of the year. March for Us and Civic Engagement were also hot topics. Furthermore, special events related to football did not go unnoticed. The French World Cup victory and England’s semi-final match against Croatia were two of the most talked about events of the past year.Finally, the Super Bowl attracted more than 62 million people to Facebook and 42 million people, in the form of likes, shares and comments, followed the long-awaited wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Google shows in the video 'Year in Search' what the most searched searches were in 2018. This shows that Avicii was the top trending search query in the Netherlands. Glennis Grace, Barbie, Litebit and Jos B are also among the top 5 searches. It is striking that this year almost all of them are about people.
Twitter
There has been a lot of tweeting in 2018. Current news, entertainment, sports, politics and from events to daily interests. Many hashtags have been used of which #vacature was the most used last year.
